An AI shopping assistant for online shops: WooCommerce first, five more platforms coming
AI shopping assistant for online shops: product cards, typo-tolerant search, protected order status. WooCommerce rolling out, five more coming soon.
A shop's chat gets the same few questions all day: do you have this, how much is it, is it in stock, when will it arrive, where is my order. Each has one right answer, and it lives in the shop. The Kav online-shop solution is built so that the assistant answers from the shop and never from memory.
Honest status. The WooCommerce solution is in the Kav Solutions marketplace and rolling out. No shop owner is using it in production yet, so this page has no customer stories, numbers or savings. The PrestaShop, Magento, Shopify, BigCommerce and Wix Stores solutions are built and in verification. They are coming soon, not live, and we are not giving dates.
Product cards, not paragraphs
A shopper asks for a product in their own words and gets product cards. Each card shows the image, a short description, the price, the sale price when there is one, a stock badge, and two buttons: Add to cart and View product. A longer result becomes a carousel with sort chips so the shopper can reorder it.
"The cheaper one." "Is it in stock?" The assistant keeps track of which product is being discussed, so a follow-up does not start the search over.
Typos and the wrong keyboard layout
Phones are not typed on carefully. Misspelt words are understood, and so are words typed with the wrong keyboard layout, a common slip for shoppers who switch between languages. The assistant works in Hebrew, Arabic, Russian and English.
Answers from the shop's own pages
Shipping, returns and payment questions are answered from what the shop has published on its own pages. If the shop has not said something, the assistant does not say it for the shop.
The model never writes a number
Prices, sale prices and stock levels are read from the shop and shown through a template. The model chooses the wording and writes the sentence around the figure, never the figure itself (why that rule matters).
Order status: a protected form, never the chat
"Where is my order?" is the question where a careless assistant does real harm. An order holds a name, an address and a list of what someone bought, and it should not open for anyone who types a plausible number.
So the assistant does not ask for order details in the chat. The shopper opens a protected form and enters the order number together with the e-mail or the phone on the order. A wrong number, a wrong detail and a missing detail all get the same reply, so nothing hints at which part was right. The form limits how fast it can be tried, and the details never appear in the conversation. When the details match, the status comes from the shop and is shown through a template.
Where it runs
On the website widget, with product cards on WhatsApp and Telegram too. Those three are Kav's live channels.
Read-only
Kav reads the shop's catalogue and pages. It does not change products, prices or orders.
Switching a shop on: a short wizard in Studio
In Studio, Kav's configuration console, the shop owner picks the shop solution in the Solutions marketplace. A wizard asks for two things: the shop's web address and the shop's currency (dollar, euro or pound). Before anything is applied, a plan shows what will be created.
Applying the plan creates the shop connection, adds the shop capabilities (find a product, see it, check stock, an order's status), binds them to the shop's read-only interface and adds the order-lookup form. The connection is created switched off. The shop's read-only key is added afterwards by whoever holds credential custody, which is a separate role, and only then is the shop switched on. Until that happens, an unconfigured shop answers nothing. The key never appears in Studio, only a fingerprint, and removing the solution disables it.
The activation wizard is rolling out with the WooCommerce solution, and comes soon with the others.
