The phone numbers your assistant can hand off to

Configuring your call centre and crisis-support contact blocks, in every language you publish, and why the server refuses a digit in the wrong field.

When your assistant hands a resident to a person, it needs a real phone number to hand them to — your call centre, or a crisis-support line. This screen is where you configure those numbers and the words around them, per language.

1. Open City → Contacts

Two kinds of contact block: Call centre and Crisis support. A tab strip lets you switch between them, and a second tab strip lets you switch which published language you're editing.

What you see when you open this screen is exactly what a resident is meeting right now — the same resolution function a live conversation calls, not a separate raw view. If you haven't set anything for your city yet, you're looking at the platform's own default text and lines.

2. Write the surrounding copy per language

Each language gets its own intro line, and headings for the name, phone and hours columns. Every field here is validated server-side to contain no digits, in any script — a heading is copy, and the actual phone numbers arrive through the table this copy heads, never inside the heading text itself. This is the same rule that keeps a model from authoring a number anywhere else in the platform, applied to a config screen an operator edits by hand.

3. Add or edit a phone line

Each line has a slug, a phone number (shared across every language — a phone number doesn't change by language), and a name plus hours that do vary per language. Add as many lines as you need — multiple departments, multiple crisis lines — and remove any that are no longer current.

4. Saving replaces the whole block for that kind, in every language, at once

This is a deliberate, structural choice, not a limitation: a save always sends copy for every published language, not just the one you're currently looking at. That's what stops a save from silently dropping a language nobody happened to have open in this session.

5. Check both kinds, not just the one you came to change

A call-centre update and a crisis-support update are separate saves. If you're updating your organization's hours for one, it's worth a quick check of the other while you're here — they're edited on the same screen but never bundled into the same write.
